Speaking at the ministerial forum of countries participating in the fifth Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) in New Delhi today, Mr Doval said that the present cyber challenges are unique as terror groups are using Internet at far greater level than before.



  • External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said that India is committed to an open, safe, secure, inclusive, democratic and dynamic cyber space. Delivering the valedictory address at the closing ceremony of the Global Conference on Cyber Space in New Delhi today, Ms Swaraj said, the Digital India programme is focused on three key vision areas infrastructure, Governance and digital empowerment.



  • Union Minister for Roads, Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Friday said the Central government has decided to promote green energy and green fuels. Calling bio-CNG, ethanol and methanol cost-effective, pollution-free and import substitute alternatives, Nitin Gadkari said the use of these alternative fuels will boost the agriculture sector and create new jobs.



  • In Assam, a delegation of the ruling BJP will visit Assam Nagaland border on 26th and 27th of this month under party President Ranjeet Kumar Dass. The delegation will take stock of the situation at border areas and also meet local people to assure them that territorial integrity of Assam will not be disturbed by proposed Nagalim.



  • In Jammu and Kashmir, security forces have arrested a Pakistani terrorist belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) from a forest area in Kupwara district today. An Army official said in Srinagar today that LeT terrorist was arrested during a joint search operation by the Army and the police in Magam area.

  • Engineers from the Indian Army have started work on three foot-overbridges (FOBs) at suburban stations in Mumbai after the Railways gave necessary approvals. The Army engineers have begun piling and foundation work for FOBs at Elphinstone Road on the Western Railway, and Currey Road and Ambivli on the Central Railway after obtaining necessary approvals from the transport PSU.

  • Election Commission today announced by-poll to R K Nagar assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu, Sikandra in Uttar Pradesh, Sabang in West Bengal and Likabali and Pakke- Kasang constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh. Notification for the polls will be issued on 27th of this month.
