  • US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said America's relationship with India is of strategic importance which is not limited to South Asia. Tillerson, who paid a surprise visit to Afghanistan yesterday, said the Trump administration was of the view that India can play a positive role in creating a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.



  • The Nepal government has accepted the resignation of its Ambassador to India, Deep Kumar Upadhyay, to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections. Upadhyaya had tendered his resignation on October 6.

Army spokesman Tamer el-Rifai said in a statement in Cairo today the air force warplanes raided the border area, foiling a new infiltration attempt and destroying eight vehicles that were carrying large quantities of weapons, ammunition and explosive material.
