  • The Delhi Police has registered 21 cases in connection with illegal sale of firecrackers in the national capital.The Supreme Court had temporarily banned sale of firecrackers in Delhi and national capital region till 31st of this month to control air pollution.



  • The Odisha government has enhanced monthly remuneration of Anganwadi workers by 50 per cent.The anganwadi workers will receive 6,000 rupees per month against 4,000 at present.

  • A 22-year-old singer from Haryana, Harshita Dahiya was shot dead in Panipat district yesterday.Police said, the singer was shot by two unidentified youths when she was on her way back home in a car after her performance at a function in Chamrara village.

    A division bench of the Kerala High Court today restored the life ban imposed on cricketer S Sreesanth by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the wake of the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Navaniti Prasad Singh and Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan, gave the verdict on a petition filed by the BCCI against a single-judge bench's order, lifting the life ban imposed on the 34-year-old pacer.

    Babar Azam scored a second succesive hundred while Shadab Khan gave his career best bowling and batting to help Pakistan thump Sri Lanka by 32 runs in the second day-night international in Abu Dhabi. One-drop batsman Babar knocked a fighting 133-ball 103 while Shadab scored a career best 52 not out to lift Pakistan from a struggling 79 for 5.

The board meeting in Colombo Monday evening decided to go ahead with the match after players had written to the board to consider changing the venue of match.
