    Indian golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar romped home to a three-shot victory at the Macao Open to bag his eighth Asian Tour title in Macau today.As a result, Bhullar etched his name on the Macao Open trophy for the second time having previously won the event in 2012.

    The Indian women’s compound team has bagged a silver medal in the World Archery Championships in Mexico City.Eyeing India’s first ever gold medal, Trisha Deb, Lily Chanu Paonam and Jyothi Surekha Vennam went down 228-234 to the fourth-seeded Colombian team in the final played yesterday.This was India’s fifth medal at the World Championships and all of them have been silver.

    India today became the Asia Cup Hockey champion after defeating Malaysia 2-1 in Dhaka. India started strongly and scored first goal through Ramandeep Singh in the first quarter and the second goal was scored by Lalit in the second quarter.

    Virat Kohli today surpassed the legendary Ricky Pointing to become the second highest century maker in ODIs en route his 31st hundred during the opening match against New Zealand in Mumbai today.Kohli, who scored 121, got to a double milestone by scoring a hundred on his 200th ODI, a feat only achieved by Ab de Villiers of South Africa.



  • In Jammu and Kashmir, Vikramaditya Singh today announced his resignation from the ruling PDP party, saying it wasn't possible for him to continue with the party which allegedly could not meet the demands and aspirations of Jammu region.Singh, the grandson of the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, had joined the PDP in August 2015.

    Indian pugilists have returned with an impressive haul of eight medals, including four golds, from the third Youth International Championships Balkan Open 2017 at Sofia, Bulgaria.Besides four golds, the Indian Youth women boxers won one silver and three bronze medals while Indian women youth team was also adjudged as the best team in the championship.Nitu, Sakshi, Shashi and Neha won the golds, while silver went to Ankushita Boro.The bronze medals were won by Joy Kumari, Sapna and Anupama..



  • The Centre has given clearance for a greenfield airport project at Hirasar, near Rajkot in Gujarat, at a cost of over 1,400 crore rupees.The state government had proposed a new airport in Rajkot district as the existing one is small and the earlier plan to extend the current runway could not be materialised due to high land cost.
