  • US Ambassador Nikki Haley to visit Africa next week when she travels to South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ethiopia. A US statement said in Washington today that Haley will meet with officials from the African Union in Addis Ababa on Monday before traveling on to Juba and Kinshasa for talks with leaders and to meet with UN peacekeepers.

  • In Madagascar,the death toll from a plague outbreak has risen to 94, with the number of suspected cases jumping to more than 1,100.
